Medical Clinics: Easy Access

ClinicConnect is working with patients and clinics to develop innovative ways for patients to book and manage medical appointments.

Avoid waiting-room line-ups

See clinic wait-times and reserve a spot in the queue online before you go. Track an accurate estimate of your appointment time to arrive just as a doctor is ready to see you.

find a clinic register

Two ways to see a doctor:

Walk-in

Joining the queue at a walk-in clinic is free and confidential. A credit card is required to place a hold on your account, to prevent abuse and no-shows, but you will only be charged if you don't arrive for your appointment.

Reservation

Wait-times at clinics can be unpredictable and lengthy. If you would like to manage your wait-time you can make a reservation ahead of time. Clinics may charge a small fee to make a reservation.

Find and compare local clinics

Scan a map and compare clinics based on wait-times. Currently we are testing our services with two clinics in UBC, the University Village Medical Clinics on Alison road and in Westbrook Village.

About us

Our mission is to improve access to Canadian healthcare by providing medical clinics with web based tools and services and online accessibility. We work closely with medical clinics to understand their professional needs and develop patient friendly tools.

Our approach to wait-times

One issue that Canadians face in large cities such as Vancouver is the scarcity of GPs and long wait times at medical clinics. The high cost of operation of clinics and the comparatively low salaries of GPs has created a low supply of medical services in the face of ever increasing demand. The Canadian healthcare system can only respond to such a crisis by restricting access: lengthed wait times for essential operations, specialists, and primary care physicians.

To address this problem we make it easy for patients to find available clinics in an area, and avoid the hassle of wait-rooms by making appointments online.

We provide software to manage appointments. Clinics may charge for services that are not covered by the Medical Services Plan (MSP), and we will ensure that costs remain transparent.

Our approach to this problem is unique. Rather than just providing a platform for clinics to advertise their wait-times, we provide a powerful system to manage appointments that automatically and accurately estimates wait-times using sophisticated algorithms that recalibrate from experience. No guesswork or manual updates are required by clinic reception staff. Fundamentally, our approach is to work with you rather than attempt to capitilize on this particular issue.

Policy concerning billing

ClinicConnect allows clinics to charge fees to schedule appointments. The booking fee goes directly to these clinics, with a small percentage going to ClinicConenct to cover the cost of developing and operating the site.
